The children at St. Francis Xavier Primary School have prepared some book reviews, here are a few:

Title: The Spiderwick Chronicles Book 4: The Ironwood tree

Author: Tony DiTerlizzi

Reviews: “If you just LOVE adventure you’ll love the Spiderwick Chronicles. Three siblings, Mallory, Jared and Simon, go looking for adventure with their great-great-uncles field guide.” Ellen

“I thought the book was great because of all the excitement and fantasy. It’s hard to picture Mallory in a dress. If you read this fantastic chapter book you’ll know what i’m talking about.” Lauren

Beast Quest series

Title: Ferno the fire dragon; Book 1

Author: Adam Blade

Review: “I think it is a very good book because it is really entertaining and you never know what is going to happen next. It is about a boy who goes on a journey to find lost things. The boy learns to do things by himself.” Tobi

Title: Sepron the sea serpent; Book 2

Author: Adam Blade

Review: “This story is great! They go on a big quest to free six big monsters there is Ferno, Sepron, Arcta, Tagus, Nanook and Epos. The characters are Tom, Ellenna, and Aduro. I think it is about being brave.” Regan

Title: Arcta the mountain giant; Book 3

Author: Adam Blade

Review: “There’s a kingdom called Avantia. Six monsters guard the kingdom of Avantia but then they get cursed and instead of the monsters guarding the kingdom they destroy it. It said in the book that a boy will become a hero by defeating all six monsters. The great wizard found the boy that will break the curse. Its a beast sort of book. The kid that will break the curse is called Tom, and his friends Ellena, Silver the dog, and Storm the horse. There are other books of the beast Quest series this is the best so far. It comes with free book marks.” Cohen

Title: Tagus the horse-man; Book 4

Author: Adam Blake

Review: “Tom is fighting a Horse-man. The characters are great. It is a bit about death.” Brent

Title: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast

Review: “This story is about a beautiful, pretty young girl and a handsome young prince who turned into an ugly Beast. The girl’s father is an inventor and a genius. I would tell you more but you have to read it!” Caitlyn

Title: Camp Blizzard

Author: Jackie Warrick

Review: “This book is about how Max, Lucy, Mum and Dad go to the Mount Fall mountains. They climb the mountain and Lucy sprains her ankle and a snow storm hits. The theme of the story is working together as a family.” Sarah
