Materials The Local Studies collection attempts to collect, organise and maintain materials dealing with the Geraldton/Greenough area and the Midwest Region. The collection includes books, photographs, maps, newsletters, annual reports, oral history interviews, local newspapers on Microfilm from 1878 and rate booksdating back to 1900. Location and Access You will find the Local Studies Collection on the first floor of the Library. Most of the material is restricted and you will need staff assistance to access the collection. You may search for much of the material through the main Library Catalogue. Please be aware that some of this material may have restricted access and/or have short loan periods. There is also a separate offline database that indexes the collection in more detail. Staff assistance is not available for Heritage Services enquiries on weekends but the public are welcome to use both the genealogy and microfilm collections.
