GERALDTON-GREENOUGH REGIONAL LIBRARY INTERNET COMMUNITY ACCESS CONDITIONS OF USE The Geraldton-Greenough Regional Library (GGRL) has no control over the information accessed through the Internet and cannot be held responsible for its content. A person must not use a computer to transmit, obtain possession of, demonstrate, advertise or request the transmission of an article knowing it to contain objectionable material (WA Censorship Act 1996, s101). A person must not use the Internet service to make restricted material available to a minor (WA Censorship Act 1996, s102). A minor means a person under 18 years of age (WA Censorship Act 1996, s3). Users must respect copyright laws and licensing agreements. Supervision or restriction of a child’s access to the Internet is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian. Signed permission will be required before a booking can be made. For the library’s purposes a child is defined as a person under 16 years. Users shall not attempt to use workstations for any purpose other than the options provided on the system and are not permitted to modify the installed hardware or software in any way. The GGRL does not guarantee or accept any liability for the information’s accuracy, authoritativeness, timeliness, or usefulness for a particular purpose. The GGRL shall have no liability for any direct or indirect or consequential damages related to the use of the information contained herein. The Library does not take responsibility for any technical problems in accessing sites on the Internet and cannot guarantee continuous Internet access during the time booked. The Library does not have control over speed of access which may cause difficulties at certain times. The Library reserves the right to: - deny access or to restrict access to certain sites and/or material
- terminate a client’s Internet privileges if any of these conditions are breached.
Due to the changing nature of the Internet, policies are subject to change without notice and at the library’s discretion. |
